Four-star DE Tahj Rice announces commitment with insane special effects video

This was bizarre... and awesome.

This might be the best commitment video of all-time... we aren't quite sure yet.

Four-star defensive end Tahj Rice (6-foot-4, 287 pounds, Louisville, KY) is one of the top linemen of the 2018 recruiting class, and he had narrowed down his choices to Oregon, USC, Virginia Tech, Louisville, and Duke. On Tuesday, Rice released the absolutely bizarre video above to announce his commitment to the Blue Devils.

At least as far as commitment videos go, this one is pretty fun and original. It shows several teams being vanquished in superhero fashion before Rice comes in, unveiling a Duke shirt ala Superman, and saves the day with a couple of laser blasts. Rice definitely went out of his way to make sure this wasn't a regular t-shirt or hat ceremony.

Rice is ranked as the No. 10 strong-side defensive end by the 247Sports Composite. He becomes the fifth member of Duke's 2018 recruiting class, as well as their highest-rated recruit.
