Four-star defensive end drops loaded final 5, with one school the heavy favorite

Highly-coveted DE mulls over schools from three different power five conferences

One of the country's top defensive ends has whittled his list of college choices down to a select few.

Stockbridge, Ga. native Brenton Cox will chose between three SEC schools, one ACC school and one Big Ten school out of the 20 scholarship offers he's received for the class of 2018.

"Georgia, Tennessee, Clemson, Ohio State and Auburn are my top schools right now, Cox told Scout.com. "All of those schools are showing me a lot of interest right now and I like each of them."

According to 247Sports composite rankings, the 6-4, 235 pound four-star talent is the No. 10 strongside defensive end in the nation, and the 22nd overall prospect in the state of Georgia. The site's Crystal Ball projection lists Georgia as the overwhelming favorite to land him.

Cox was recently participated in the Under Armour Future 50 Underclassmen camp in Orlando, Fl., and relished the chance to go up against the nation's top players.

"I had been waiting for that moment for a long time," Cox continued. "It was a great opportunity to show what I could against some of the best and I was happy to be a part of it. I went out there with the attitude that I had something to prove. I just wanted to showcase what I could as a pass rusher at defensive end."

Alabama, Michigan State, Nebraska, Missouri, North Carolina, and Virginia Tech were also among Cox's many offers.
