Four-star DE Derick Hunter Jr. spurns Florida, FSU with commitment despite recent visits

Bad news for Florida and FSU.

It looks like recent visits to Florida and Florida State helped this recruit make his decision... just not to the benefit of either of those schools.

On Thursday, four-star defensive end Derick Hunter Jr. (6-foot-5, 251 pounds, Fort Myers, Fla.) announced that he had instead committed to Miami over the two in-state rivals.

"First off I'll like to thank god for all the blessings he gave me and all the coaches that gave me a chance," Hunter said on Twitter. "But my mind been made up for sometime now.."

Hunter had been extremely busy in the past week, taking visits to both Florida and Florida State, plus attending a camp for Alabama. However, it looks like those activities did nothing but confirm to Hunter that he should be a Hurricane.

Hunter is a class of 2019 recruit and he is a ranked as a four-star by 247Sports. Miami now already has four commitments for their 2019 class.
