Despite his name, four-star defensive tackle recruit Rutger Reitmaier (6-foot-3, 270 pounds, Nashville, TN) won’t be heading to New Jersey in order to attend Rutgers. Instead, he announced his intention to play college ball at Oregon, picking the Ducks over the favored Tennessee Volunteers.

Reitmaier is just Oregon’s fourth commit for the 2017 class, and their second commitment this week.

Reitmaier is an interesting prospect, as his recruit rankings are all over the place. He’s a four-star by 247Sports‘ rankings, and rated as their No. 157 overall prospect. However, if you look at the 247 Composite rankings — which averages major recruiting services — is rank drops to a three-star and down to the No. 353 overall prospect.

Either way, Reitmaier is a big pickup for the Ducks and a good addition to their 2017 recruiting class.
