"Thanks to every single coach who has offered me an opportunity to play college football, every offer is a blessing," Takacs said on Twitter. "That being said I am announcing my commitment to my dream school the University of Notre Dame!!!"
Takacs has been rising up recruiting boards recently, as he was upgraded to a four-star just over the past few months. Takacs originally had a Top 3 of Florida, Georgia, and Wisconsin, but an offer from Notre Dame in March was apparently enough for the Fighting Irish to shoot all the way to the top and garner his commitment this week.
Takacs had received some interest as a wide receiver, but he is likely to be a tight end at the next level. However, he still has great quickness off the line (4.87 in the 40) for his size, so he has the opportunity to develop into a great receiving threat with Notre Dame.
With the commitment, Notre Dame now has 12 pledges for the 2018 class, with Takacs ranking in the upper-half of those recruits. The Fighting Irish rank sixth in recruiting rankings after the commitment, per 247Sports.
