Four-star Michigan signee announces he won't be a Wolverine in 2016

Brad Hawkins verbally committed to Michigan over Ohio State last August.

This is certainly what Michigan fans weren't hoping to hear. On Friday, four-star wide receiver Brad Hawkins, who signed his letter of intent with Michigan in February, announced that he would not be a Wolverine in 2016. Instead, Hawkins will play for a prep school in Connecticut — Suffield Academy.

Hawkins, who was the No. 55 ranked wide receiver in the 2016 class, still was waiting on getting enrolled into UM as recently as late June. The Detroit Free Press reported Hawkins was the only signee who wasn't listed on the school's directly, unlike his fellow signees. It is unclear whether or not Hawkins will be able to return to Ann Arbor next fall. Hawkins committed to Michigan last August over Ohio State.
