Four-star OL spurns Big Ten powers to go to this school

He had tons of offers too.

The Opening at Nike headquarters in Oregon has been a haven for recruiting news this past week and that didn't change with the commitment of Robert Hainsey. He's a 6'5", 276-pound offensive guard who plays for the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. He's originally from Pennsylvania and had offers from close by Michigan and Michigan State. However, he decided the Big Ten life wasn't for him:

Hainsey is the No. 4 guard in the country and No. 17 recruit in the state of Florida according to 247Sports. Hainsey's commitment is the 15th in Notre Dame's 2017 class - and it bumps the program's ranking to No. 7 overall, per 247Sports. He also had offers from Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami and Maryland to name a few.
