Jim Harbaugh's reputation as a recruiter is well-established and his latest triumph is yet another testament to that. On Monday, Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines secured a commitment from the No. 7 wide receiver in the country, Oliver Martin.
In the immediate aftermath, Harbaugh and new Michigan assistant Pep Hamilton leaped into a pool while fully clothed in celebration.
Martin isn't the top wide receiver in Michigan's No. 4 ranked (per 247Sports) class nationally, as that honor goes to uber-elite prospect Donovan Peoples-Jones. At the same time, the 6-foot, 188-pound receiver is one of the top 50 prospects in the country and Martin will inject some additional life into what the Wolverines are trying to assemble on the outside in support of quarterback Wilton Speight.
With the addition of Martin to the fold, Michigan now has a 27-member group for the 2017 recruiting class and there is a possibility for more additions before the end of National Signing Day on Feb. 1. Harbaugh and his staff are undoubtedly thrilled with the assembled group of talent and, even if he has to jump in a pool (or sleep-over at a recruit's house) to affirm a pledge, the ever-entertaining head coach has proven that he will do just that.
