Due to currently unknown circumstances, 2016 four-star safety Shurod Thompson (6-foot-2, 202 pounds, Brentwood, CA) announced his intention to decommit from Oregon State on Tuesday.

Thompson appears to be thankful to the coaching staff, and it looks like the decision might not be entirely his free will. Hopefully everything is fine with this young man and his personal life.
Thompson had been committed to Oregon State since October, but he apparently never signed with the program.
According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Thompson is ranked the No. 7 safety in the 2016 class. Once committed to Cal, Thompson also had offers from Oregon, Utah, Mississippi State, and Oklahoma.
