FOX Sports analyst Joel Klatt thinks Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson is a great player and all, but Klatt diverges from most college football watchers when he says this: he does not think Jackson will be in the Heisman conversation come the second week of December.
"The Heisman Trophy is won in November, and maybe the first week of December as well," Klatt said. "But the problem is that he doesn't not have the big stages down the stretch. He's not going to be at the forefront of college football, in meaningful college football games down the stretch."
Ouch.

Klatt is somewhat right here. Guys like Alabama's Jalen Hurts, Clemson's Deshaun Watson, Ohio State's J.T. Barrett, and Michigan's Jabrill Peppers are going to be competing for a shot in their respective conference titles games, while Louisville needs some help in order to get to the ACC Championship game.
However, Louisville does have one major game on the schedule that will definitely get a lot of attention: a Thursday night contest at Houston that will be broadcast on ESPN. If both teams are still ranked in the Top 10 at the time — and if Lamar Jackson stays healthy and keeps producing insane stats — then that game might be enough to keep Jackson from falling off the national radar.
