According to Athens-Clarke County Jail records, Young was booked into the detention center at around 4 am ET.

The victim is a 20-year-old woman, who has been identified as the ex-girlfriend of the Georgia football player.

In view of the situation, the woman told police that she went to Young's apartment around midnight on Tuesday to discuss their relationship.

That is, things started to escalate when she found out he was on the phone with another woman. The next set of alleged unfortunate events that followed started with Young grabbing her arm and pulling her out of the room.

The woman then noted that Young was "using derogatory terms and being demeaning of her," before he went back to his room and locked the door.

She told police that soon after this, "Mr. Young came out and grabbed her from behind. She said that he picked her up and began to squeeze her torso and abdomen very hard. She said she felt like [Young] was trying to harm her."

To note, according to ESPN, the officer who was called onto the scene did report seeing "a bruise and discoloration on the bottom of the woman's chest where it meets the abdomen and redness on her right side."

Following this, the woman was transferred to a local hospital.

As for Young and his side of the story, he said that he escorted his ex to the front door amid their confrontation, but denied harming her in any way. Considering the marks on the woman and injuries she sustained, he said it wasn't from him.

Young's attorney, Kim Stephens, gave a statement (per ESPN) regarding the matter.

"Colbie Young was arrested last night after he asked his ex-girlfriend to leave his apartment. He did not make physical contact with her in any way that could ever be considered a crime. I expect Mr. Young to be fully exonerated once our investigation is complete and the truth revealed."

In view of Young's collegiate playing career, he was on the Miami Hurricanes roster for two seasons before joining the Bulldogs this year.

So far this season, he has 11 catches for 149 yards and two touchdowns.

To point out, this is not the only Georgia wide receiver who has been arrested for assault, as former Bulldogs wideout Rodarius "Rafa" Thomas is facing multiple family violence charges and was dismissed from the team on August 1.
