The level at which Florida State has beaten their in-state rivals at recruiting is ridiculous.

Rivals analyzed just how well Florida State has recruited against their rivals in recent years, and the results were pretty astounding. According to Rivals, the Seminoles have landed more in-state five-stars than both Miami and Florida... combined.
From Rivals.com:
In the talent-rich state of Florida, the Seminoles have landed more five-star commits (24) in the Rivals.com era dating back to 2003 than Florida (14) and Miami (9) combined.

The Miami part there may not be too surprising with how the Hurricanes have been on a lull over the past decade-plus, but Florida has won two national titles in that span. The fact that Florida State has still out-recruited them within the state by that large of a margin is pretty telling, especially with how the two programs have trended recently in recruiting.
The biggest example of that? Florida State landed four Rivals five-stars in the 2017 recruiting class, including Top 10 recruits Cam Akers and Marvin Wilson. The Gators, meanwhile, have collected three five-stars over the past three years, which is a decent showing, but nothing compared to what Florida State has done recently.
