"So thankful to announce my commitment to play for the Minnesota Golden gophers!" said Spann-Ford on Twitter. "I'd like to thank my family, coaches, and friends for all they have done along the way! #RTB"
It was a good day for Minnesota, as they also picked up a commitment from two-star athlete Josh Aune.
While Minnesota isn't exactly competing with Ohio State for recruiting titles, Fleck is doing exactly what he needs to do right now for the Minnesota program by picking up some solid talents in volume. Minnesota now has 14 commitments for their 2018 class, and they rank in the Top 20 overall at 247Sports. That might not hold for long, but Fleck is getting the name out there and looking to change the perception of program after several years of stagnation.
