The Michigan Wolverines are near the top in the recruiting rankings this year under Jim Harbaugh, with both ESPN and 247Sports having positive things to say about the current 2016 commitments for Big Blue. However, Harbaugh and Michigan have come under some criticism in recent weeks, as the school has suffered a wave of decommits likely related to a shortage in available scholarships.
Well, Jim Harbaugh has a response to that criticism and he does make some sense with his comment.
Harbaugh isn't completely wrong here, as one part of recruiting is that — if a team can get better players — then you simply might get left behind if you fall out of a team's favor. If Harbaugh is indeed being this open with his recruits, then that is a good thing.
However, it is a bit unclear if Harbaugh is being that open with his recruits. Two recruits in recent weeks have reportedly decommitted after communication between them and the school came to a halt, an action that left them in the dark with National Signing Day rapidly approaching.
For now, the recruiting game is a dirty game to play. Jim Harbaugh is just trying to be the best at it, making him the dirtiest player in the game.
