Jim Harbaugh confirms the departure of a former five-star RB

One school is currently the favorite to land Green after transfer.

It was announced about a month ago that Michigan running back Derrick Green had planned to transfer away from Michigan. On Friday, head coach Jim Harbaugh confirmed Green's departure from the program to the Detroit Free Press.

Green rushed for 898 yards and seven touchdowns during his time in Ann Arbor, but he did not play much in the most recent season under Harbaugh. Green was passed by several running backs in the rotation, and only received 47 carries in nine games in 2015.

Pending his graduation, Green should be eligible to play immediately for his new school upon transfer. The current favorite for Green's transfer is Florida, which was reported first about a month ago.
