Jim Harbaugh needs a Michigan victory to "erase the bad taste" in his mouth

Michigan punter Blake O'Neill is handling things quite well, and the entire Wolverines roster appears to be ready to move on after the brutality that was the end of the Michigan State game. However, their coach isn't quite there yet.

Jim Harbaugh took to the air on Thursday as part of The Stoney and Bill Show, and he had this to say about hid mindset and the fact that he simply isn't over the Michigan State loss yet (h/t MLive.com):

"It's different with each person. There are people who can leave the game when the game is over and they don't think about it. I'm not one of those people. There's other people where I've heard it takes 24 hours or 48 hours to get over a game and move on to the next one, whether you win or lose. There's others, it takes until the next game — or the next win, if you're coming off of a loss — to erase the bad taste in your mouth.

"I'd probably put myself in that category."

Harbaugh has used the "mouthwash" analogy before as part of the team's plan to erase the damage done by a season-opening loss to Utah, but this one is entirely different. Fortunately, Michigan is facing a team with inferior talent with Minnesota this week, theoretically providing a spot in which the team can recover nicely, but the Gophers could also be ready to plan inspired football after the abrupt retirement of their head coach.

It is hard to imagine having to deal with an angry Jim Harbaugh, but Michigan's players have had to do so for two weeks. We could see an inspired performance on Saturday as a result.
