The Jim Harbaugh-Jim Rome beef is escalating.

For background, Rome took Harbaugh to task for prematurely ending a media session earlier this week, and the national radio personality launched into a rant directed at Michigan's head coach. On cue, Harbaugh responded with perhaps the most famous clip involving Rome and it came via Harbaugh's preferred medium of scorn, Twitter:
Fans who have followed Rome's lengthy career in radio probably assumed that the "shock joke" would fire back and, just two hours later, that predictable outcome came to pass.
For the uninitiated, Rome's "42-13" reference happens to double as the score of the 2015 contest between Michigan and Ohio State, in which the Wolverines entered with lofty expectations before falling flat in their own stadium. This is a (very) obvious way to poke the bear on Rome's end, but at the same time, Harbaugh's brash personality invites this kind of behavior and no one should be surprised that Rome took the easiest path to riling Harbaugh up online.
It remains to be seen if Harbaugh will respond in kind, but for now, we are left to simply enjoy a legitimate beef between one of the most famous people in college football and a radio host that isn't known for backing down quietly.
