John Franklin III blasts Auburn experience after FAU transfer

He was pretty clear about this.

John Franklin III is far more famous than a typical college football journeyman, even when compared to other quarterbacks. That is, of course, the nature of being featured prominently in Last Chance U on Netflix during his time in junior college but Franklin III's journey isn't over just yet.

Following his junior college stint, Franklin landed at Auburn and was a real contributor for the Tigers in 2016. However, the dual-threat quarterback was not able to secure the permanent job as the team's starter and that prompted a transfer to join Lane Kiffin and the FAU Owls.

Franklin III is now on campus at FAU and, upon arrival, he reflected on his time at Auburn.

Franklin didn't fully bash the Auburn experience, but at the same time made sure to note that he "wasn't really having too much fun" and that speaks to his experience. It has to be noted that the talented quarterback might have been seeking playing time above all else, but Auburn fans likely aren't thrilled with the sentiment.

Franklin III is already a graduate and, in accordance with NCAA transfer rules, is immediately eligible at FAU. Only time will tell as to whether he'll play extensively at his next stop, but given that he wouldn't have at Auburn this appears to be a better opportunity.
