JUCO recruit receives hilarious rating after committing to Alabama

There has often been skepticism with regards to recruiting services about the star ratings of some recruits after they announce their commitments. Some people gain stars, some people lose stars, and some speculate that where the recruit commits to can gain or lose them a star.

Enter Alabama and JUCO recruit Gary Johnson.

Johnson (6-foot-1, 225 pounds, Dawson, AL) is a pretty significant recruit as a linebacker, as he had 133 total tackles and 13.5 tackles for loss at Dodge City Community College in 2015. He has the potential to earn a pretty high rating.

However, getting a four-star rating from 247Sports the day after announcing his commitment to Alabama? Sketchy!

Now as already stated, Johnson might actually be a four-star recruit, as he clearly proved himself as a prolific player in junior college. However, getting that rating literally the day after he announces his commitment? Well, at the least, it doesn't to much to dispel the notion that recruiting stars can be too tied to the schools looking at a recruit rather than the quality of the recruit.
