Nation's No. 1 recruit Justin Fields clarifies rumors of leader in recruitment

That's pretty clear.

Justin Fields is the No. 1 recruit in the entire country for 2018 according to 247Sports' own rankings. His recruitment is down to Auburn, Georgia, Florida and Florida State. He just took his last visit of the summer when he went to Florida's Friday Night Lights camp and he spoke to 247Sports about what he wants to do next as well as straightened out any rumors about where he's leaning.

Five-star recruit Jamaree Salyer thought it might be down to Georgia and Florida State while four-star recruit Quindarious Monday said that Georgia isn't a good fit for Fields. Well, he not only put to rest a commitment date —- that's still to be named —- but also said that there's no leader right now.

"I'm going to take my officials. I don't know when I'm going to commit. I might commit today, tomorrow, I just don't know, to be honest with you.

"I don't think I'm that close. Right now I have kind of like, my mind is spinning. I don't have a leader or anything."

So it looks like his commitment will likely come down to what happens on his official visits and there's no real timeline on that. However, his top four schools right now should feel pretty good as it sounds like those potential trips to Oregon and Nebraska are just to get out and about the country.

Fields is a 6'3", 221-pound dual threat QB out of Kennesaw, Ga. and has over 40 offers from schools. Including his top four schools he also holds offers from Penn State, Alabama, LSU, Michigan State, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, USC and West Virginia among many others.
