No. 1 recruit Justin Fields gives an update on exactly when he will announce his commitment

Some cryptic words from the five-star?

Five-star quarterback Justin Fields (6-foot-3, 220 pounds, Kennesaw, Ga.) has taken the college football world by storm in recent months since he decommitted from Penn State. It looks like he is planning to keep that world in a whirlwind.

In an interview with Kipp Adams of 247Sports, Fields updated the timeline for his commitment, saying that he "plan was to watch a little bit of the season" before making a decision. However, that will be the only hints we get on a commitment date, as Fields says he will announce his commitment whenever he makes a decision.

"I am not going to tell everyone I am committing this day," Fields said to Adams. "It is kind of just going to happen."

As of now, Auburn, Florida State, and Georgia are considered the top teams in Fields' recruitment. Fields has generally avoided naming a leader, but the Seminoles are generally regarded as a favorite by the media, as they hold over half of the predictions in the 247Sports Crystal Ball.

Fields is ranked as the No. 1 overall prospect of the 2018 class.
