Son of NFL legend facing charges following leave from college program

Still a lot to be decided here.

Nebraska Cornhusker, and son of former NFL legend Keyshawn Johnson, wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson Jr. has filled a written plea stemming from his arrest last month that resulted in the son of the former USC Trojan star wideout taking a leave of absence from the university.

Johnson Jr. filled a written plea of not guilty Tuesday.

Via Huskers Extra:

"His attorney, Eddy Rodell, filed a written not guilty plea on Tuesday and said in an email that Johnson is applying for pretrial diversion."

"According to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Police Department, on June 9, officers found 4.5 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside Johnson's room at Selleck Quad, a student dorm at 600 N. 15th St, after a resident director smelled marijuana."

Johnson Jr. is only up to multiple $100 fines from the incident, but it still isn't a good situation all-around.

The true freshman can return to the school in January, but, no matter what, he won't be on the sidelines for the Cornhuskers this fall.
