Lane Kiffin has some very important hires to make as the new head coach at Florida Atlantic, but one of his first major hires may come with some controversy. According to FootballScoop.com, Kiffin has had "productive" talks with Baylor offensive coordinator Kendal Briles about taking the same position.

Briles doesn't have the same blacklist within the coaching industry that his father has, but he still comes with some of the same baggage that everyone that coached during the on-going sexual assault scandal has. Briles does have clout as a talented offensive coordinator, but he — like Kiffin — might need some rehab work for his image following the scandal at Baylor.
Kiffin has already made some hires to his FAU staff, including his brother Chris Kiffin as defensive coordinator. Kiffin also apparently tried to bring Steve Sarkisian with him to Florida Atlantic, but Alabama eventually hired Sarkisian as their offensive coordinator to replace Kiffin.
