Kiffin joined ESPN's Pat McAfee on Tuesday and pushed back on the idea that Ole Miss has set a deadline as he continues to draw heavy interest from both Florida and LSU.

"That is absolutely not true," Kiffin said. "There has been no ultimatum. I do not know where that came from. We are having a blast. I love it here."

ESPN cited sources in saying the situation is a bit more complicated.

According to those reports, Ole Miss officials, including athletic director Keith Carter, have asked Kiffin and his agent, Jimmy Sexton, for clarity by the weekend. They stopped short of calling it an ultimatum, but the school wants to prepare for the postseason and, if needed, a coaching transition before the College Football Playoff.

Kiffin's family has already fueled speculation. Sources told ESPN his ex-wife Layla, his son Knox and his nephew visited Gainesville on Sunday. Layla and other family members visited Baton Rouge on Monday.

Ole Miss has reportedly made it clear it will match any offer from Florida or LSU. Kiffin earns $9 million annually with another $2.6 million available in bonuses, placing him among the highest-paid coaches in the SEC.

The Rebels are 10-1 and sit at No. 7 in the CFP rankings heading into Tuesday night's reveal. Kiffin is 54-19 in six seasons at Ole Miss, including four seasons of at least 10 wins. A victory over Mississippi State in next week's Egg Bowl could put the Rebels in position to host a first-round CFP game.

"I love what we are doing here," Kiffin said after Saturday's win over Florida. "To even talk about anything else right now would be disrespectful to our players. We have a lot going here and I love it."
