Lane Kiffin's reported FAU salary shows what mattered most in the end

Kiffin will take his talents to Florida.

Lane Kiffin wanted to be a head coach again more than anything, and it showed in his salary.

Florida Atlantic inked the former Alabama assistant to a reported $1 million deal, leaving $1.4 million in salary with the Tide and a reported offer of more than $2 million per year for him to jump to LSU.

Kiffin is expected to coach through the College Football Playoff with Alabama before jumping to his new coaching gig.

The former coordinator was a one-time Oakland Raiders head coach, before heading up Tennessee and USC.

He's helped Alabama to one National Championship during his tenure, and could be on the cusp of another.
