According to Christopher Stock of 247Sports, Helfrich spent "multiple days" with Mark Richt and Miami last week, which included visits to team workouts. Richt even released a statement to 247 on the matter.

"Our program occasionally brings in people during the offseason to discuss strategy and exchange ideas," Richt said. "Mark Helfrich visited with our staff last week and we talked football."
There is no indication that Helfrich is in the running for any sort of position with the school, but it is his first major appearance in the coaching news since the coaching carousel really ended in January. Helfrich did not get a major head coaching job or coordinator position after his firing, so it will be interesting to see if he shops around for a while and tries to land an analyst position like Steve Sarkisian did last year.
Helfrich was fired by Oregon last season after a 4-8 performance by the Ducks. Overall, Helfrich had a 37-16 record in his four seasons as a head coach in Eugene, and he had been with Oregon for a total of eight seasons dating back to his time
