Former Harrison high school offensive lineman Mason Tompkins died Saturday afternoon after reportedly jumping from atop a rock into a creek in an Alabama state park.
Via WHNT 19:
"Tompkin's official cause of death is under investigation. Both Chief Deputy Michael Edmondson and Charles Rowell said the cliffs can be dangerous. "You just try to talk to them and tell them to be really careful, because it`s a dangerous game down there if you don`t know what you`re doing," Rowell explained."
As of this writing, not much else is known as to how this tragic accident occurred.
Tompkins, a Harrison high school graduate, played on the offensive line for the Hoyas and blocked for five-star recruit Justin Fields who took to his personal Twitter account to comment on the passing of Tompkins.
