Jim Harbaugh's debut as the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines didn't go particularly well. However, the fan base still appears to be quite excited about the program's direction, if the "tip" seen above is any indication.

Fox 13 in Salt Lake City reports that a group of Michigan fans wandered in to the Bourbon House restaurant following the 24-17 loss on Thursday and, in short, the maize and blue supporters left a $3,000 tip on a $500 bill. Needless to say, the server was pleased.

"They're like, 'We want to give this to you. We want to make your day' and it did, and I started tearing up."

"I've always wanted to be one of those people that give. I always wish that I have the capacity to do that. And to so generously see that from someone else, a random act of kindness, there's nothing that hits more home. There's not a word for it. A 'Thank you' is not enough."

The Jim Harbaugh era will continue in earnest on Saturday with the home opener against Oregon State, but the mojo of the fan base will be not be dimmed by one solitary loss.
