Michigan's revamped helmet stickers are here and the design is interesting

Because Jim Harbaugh elected to bring back helmet stickers on the basis of competition and to incentivize his team, the Michigan Wolverines did not come out of the tunnel against Utah with stickers on display. However, the team had the opportunity to "earn" those stickers in the opener, meaning that Saturday's game against Oregon State will be the first time the new design is displayed publicly.

Michigan's athletic department unveiled the new design on Saturday morning (see above), and it is quite interesting. It has been a long time since the Wolverines wore this kind of thing on their helmet, but the outline of a Wolverine is both simple and Harbaugh-esque. The initial returns are mixed, as some of the fan base does not love the change after Lloyd Carr pulled the plug in 1995, but Harbaugh gets what he wants in Ann Arbor.

None of this will matter if Michigan doesn't perform better on the field, but the new look is here and the fan base should get used to it.
