The Internet became ablaze on early Tuesday morning as video surfaced of what appeared to be Missouri quarterback Maty Mauk snorting what looks like cocaine. Now, one of Mauk's teammates, linebacker Michael Scherer, is sticking up for the quarterback. Scherer took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to address the video claiming that Mauk has "doing everything he can to be a better person." He also added some alleged specifics regarding the video, stating that it is "very old." The tweets have since been deleted, but there are screenshots.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is now also reporting that one of Mauk's teammates has told them that the video is two years old.
"The quarterback has since addressed his drug problem, a Mizzou teammate told the Post-Dispatch. The player asked to not be identified." The report stated.
Another one of Mauk's teammates, wide receiver Keyon Dilosa, took to Twitter and made the same claim about the timeline of the video.
Mauk started just five games for Missouri in the 2015 season after serving two separate suspensions. On Novemeber 1, he was suspended for the season for an incident allegedly related to a fight at a bar near the Missouri campus.
Missouri AD Mack Rhoades has since suspended Mauk indefinitely after the video surfaced Monday evening.
