Najee Harris is committed to Alabama, but that doesn't mean Jim Harbaugh and Michigan won't continue to pursue him in an aggressive way. In fact, Harbaugh will be in attendance on Friday night to see Harris play during Michigan's bye week, according to the San Francisco Chronicle:
Next week, when Antioch hosts Liberty, another wrinkle comes into play: Harbaugh, the Michigan head coach, is planning to attend the game, hoping he can persuade Harris to flip his verbal commitment to Alabama and play in Ann Arbor instead.
This won't be the first interaction between Harbaugh and the 6-foot-3, 226-pound running back, as Harris made a visit to Ann Arbor in early August. While the commitment to the Crimson Tide has existed for quite some time, Harris recently opened the door to outside overtures with these comments to USA Today:
"I'm going to take my five (official) visits, but I just don't know where. Let's say this: My mind isn't set on Alabama. I'm not 100 percent set on Alabama. I'm trying to see what else is out there for me. I'm using my visits to see. As much attention as I've gotten, I feel like I have helped my teammates get some offers, too."
Nick Saban can't be pleased that Harris is "not 100 percent set on Alabama" and Jim Harbaugh is known in the recruiting world as an incredible closer. There is a long way to go until we know where Najee Harris will be playing college football for 2017 and beyond, but his decision could send shock waves across the country.
