Four-star inside linebacker Matthew Bauer (6-foot-3, 215 pounds, Erie, PA) is the No. 2 player at his position for the 2018 class, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
On Wednesday, Bauer made a decision by announcing his commitment to Notre Dame.
It may be early in the 2018 recruiting process, but Bauer did not have a ton of major offers; Penn State and Michigan State were the next biggest schools on the list of teams that had offered him so far.
For Notre Dame, this is already their sixth commitment of the 2018 class. Bauer is the second highest-rated recruit out of those commitments, and the class ranks No. 2 over at 247Sports' rankings for 2018.
