NFL analyst says this QB is better than Tim Tebow, and we're still shaking our heads

This is certainly interesting.

Certainly a talented prospect out of Mississippi State, Dak Prescott was taken at No. 135 overall.

While some scouts will compare him to former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, former NFL vice president of player personnel Gil Brandt isn't as quick to do so, going as far as to say he'll be a better longterm prospect than the former Heisman winner, per Sportsday:

"Well let me say this to you and you're going to laugh when I tell you this. [Prescott] is a better football player than Tim Tebow. He's a better football player than Tim Tebow. You're going to laugh when I say that because Tebow was a first-round pick because he was on a very, very good team at Florida. But this guy is a better football player. He has some work to do because they played the Florida offense, which is not a passing offense we see in the NFL. But I think Prescott has a lot of upside, I liked him a lot and I told one of your fellow writers back in February I think it was this was the quarterback they were going to draft."

Tebow made progress during his time in the NFL, but hype and the show that occurred surrounding Tebow-mania made teams less willing to give him a shot. Prescott has none of the surrounding noise, a better release and similar athleticism. But does that mean he'll develop into a better, or simply even prospect? Only time will tell with how he develops behind Tony Romo.

Tebow sparked a playoff win in Denver, arguably beat out Mark Sanchez in training camp last year and is currently working at ESPN after he was unable to land another gig.
