Nick Saban Laughs At Lee Corso's Near Fall
But even before players took the field, there was action kickoff, during the pre-game show. As College Gameday analyst Lee Corso picked the Fighting Irish to win the Orange Bowl over Penn State on Thursday, in full uniform, he nearly took a spill on the set of the show.
ESPN analyst Nick Saban, who often has a no-nonsense demeanor on the show, could not help but be tickled by Corso's hijinx as you can see him laughing hysterically in the backround.

Marcus Freeman Gets Honest on Penn State
The Nittany Lions played in a loaded Big Ten Conference that featured two other College Football Playoff teams (Ohio State, and Oregon) and still finished second in the conference with a record of 12-2. However, their 1-2 record against ranked opponents this season left a lot to be desired coming into the College Football Playoff. However, after dominant wins over the SMU Mustangs and Boise State Broncos where they scored a combined 69 points, Penn State looks like a legit contender to win it all.
Although the Fighting Irish come into this matchup as the favorite to advance, Notre Dame coach Marcus Free knows they are facing off against a very game Nittany Lions squad.
"This is a very disciplined, tough football team, a very creative offense that utilizes a bunch of different personnel, a bunch of different formations. They're going to force you to be extremely disciplined in terms of your eyes and your adjustments in terms of defensive football," Freeman said.
"I think their tight end, (Tyler) Warren, is one of the best players in college football period, regardless of position. Both of their running backs are extremely good players, and both of them are home-run threats. They're power runners, they've got speed, good balance, they're tough. I think they're extremely talented players, and the quarterback is playing as well as he has all season."
