New Alabama offensive coordinator Brian Daboll has a pro-style background, but that doesn't necessarily mean the Tide will go back to a pro-style offense next season.

The Tide ran more of spread offense with Jalen Hurts last season under Lane Kiffin, and they had success with that style of offense. Alabama has been known for its power running game in the past, but they strayed from that some last season with Kiffin.
At Alabama's Pro Day, Nick Saban's comments seemingly indicated that the Tide will continue to run spread concepts next season.
"Brian's got a lot of experience," Saban said via TideSports.com. "He's coached 11 years with the Patriots and (four) years in the NFL as an offensive coordinator. He coached with us at Michigan State.
"I think he's got a lot of knowledge and experience in the pro game as well as being a very bright guy that can learn some of the things that we've done here relative to the spread and do what our players can do here."
If Jalen Hurts is the starting QB again, and he's still somewhat limited as a passer, keeping the spread offense might be the best option for the Tide.
Alabama fans might not like hearing that news—especially with weapons like Bo Scarbrough and Damien Harris at running back—but Bama was only seconds away from winning a national title last season with that style of offense.
No matter what they run, they will still be in the mix for a national title next season.
