Florida State lands verbal commit from nation's No. 4 ranked safety

Cyrus Fagan picked Florida State despite having a plethora of big time offers.

Just a few hours after landing a verbal commit from Charles Strong, a 2018 running back out of Gainesville, Fla., Florida State's coaching staff got some more good news on the recruiting trail. Free safety Cyrus Fagan (6-foot-0, 172 pounds, Daytona Beach, Fla.) announced he was verbally committing to FSU's 2017 class on Sunday afternoon from his Twitter account.

"I want to thank God for blessing me with this opportunity," Fagan posted to Twitter on Sunday, "also I want to thank every college that offered me a scholarship to play football and to further my education. After talking things over with my family and coaches, I will be committing to The Florida State University. #Tribe17 #NoleNation"

Fagan held offers from a number of big time schools including Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia and several others. Per 247sports he's the No. 4 ranked safety in the country. He attended FSU's Junior Day on Saturday. It's safe to say Sunday was a pretty good day for the FSU coaching staff.
