Notre Dame linebacker Jaylon Smith left the Fiesta Bowl in the first quarter due to what happened in the picture below. If you are a little squeamish, you might not want to look.
As ACLrecoveryCLUB pointed out on Twitter, the injury looks similar to what Georgia running back Nick Chubb suffered earlier in the year against Tennessee. The injury for Chubb was season-ending, but the good news there was that Chubb did not suffer damage to his ACL. Smith, one of the top prospects in all of college football, would likely be relatively happy if he is blessed with the same luck.
