O.J Simpson once famously got out of doing prison time in one of the most controversial court cases of all-time. His guilt or innocence is still debated to this very day. The crime that eventually put him behind bars was nowhere near as high profile, though, but once he does get out — "The Juice" will be back in the spotlight in a big way.

According to Ken Ritter of the Associated Press, Simpson could get out of prison as early as this October. The former USC Trojan star has been serving a 33-year sentence for armed robbery and assault with a weapon, a charge that stemmed from Simpson forcibly taking sports memorabilia from two men by breaking into a hotel room and at gun point. Simpson was convicted of 12 charges related to that crime and sentenced to 33 years as Nevada prison inmate No. 1027820.
Per Ritter, Simson's parole hearing is coming up this week, though, and it seems like Simpson may get out after serving only his nine-year minimum sentence.
"No one at his Thursday hearing is expected to oppose releasing him in October — not his victim, not even the former prosecutor who persuaded a jury in Las Vegas to convict Simpson in 2008."
Ritter also cited a retired Clark County district attorney, who said:
"Assuming that he's behaved himself in prison, I don't think it will be out of line for him to get parole," said David Roger, the retired Clark County district attorney.
All reports on Simpson behind bars are that he's been a model inmate, so it seems more like than not that "The Juice" will finally be loose. Of course, anything can happen at the parole hearing, and we've learned from history that with Simpson, anything does happen. But from what Ritter makes it sound like, there's a good chance Simpson will be granted his release from prison come October.
If he's let out, where he goes from there will be anybody's guess, but the cameras and the pop culture obsessed world that once engulfed him are sure to follow.
