Ole Miss loses defensive lineman Herbert Moore for the season

While Ole Miss certainly possesses quality depth in the front seven, the Rebels will be tested in that regard with the news that defensive tackle Herbert Moore will miss the 2015 season. Moore announced, via both his Instagram and Twitter, on Friday that he suffered a torn ACL that will sideline him until 2016.

Moore, a redshirt sophomore from Memphis, appeared in just six games during the 2014 season, but expectations were high that the 6-foot-1, 322-pound tackle could be used as part of a deep and talented defensive line rotation. This is a brutal blow for the Rebels, especially at this early point in training camp, and with Ole Miss traveling to Tuscaloosa to face Alabama on September 19, Hugh Freeze and his staff have a tall task in preparing quickly for that game.

It appears that Moore is taking the news in stride, saying that he can "focus on some good school work", but it will be interesting to see what the future holds for both the player and the program.
