One coach fires back at Texas's Tom Herman following a claim about the NFL

Some bad blood brewing in the coaching ranks?

Tom Herman hasn't been on the job long at Texas, but he is already doing everything he can to reset the perception of the program.

However, it appears one of the things that Herman has done is tick off another college football coach.

On Thursday, Herman sent out this seemingly innocuous tweet touting assistant coach Jason Washington as "the only coach in college football to develop EIGHT 2/0 stars into NFLers".

Seems innocent enough. If you have a coach that is doing something right, you would want everyone to know, right?

Well, Herman's message fell afoul another college football head coach. As Football Scoop points out, Garden City Community College coach Jeff Sims has done his fair share to help churn out NFL talent as well, with the program claiming 34 recruits of two-stars or less to make it into the NFL.

Oops! And that might not even be it; who knows how many coaches can make a claim to mentoring that many low-rated recruits and turning them into NFL players?

Herman had some good intentions here, but it looks like the facts of the matter might not be as set in stone as he thought.
