Clay Helton and the USC Trojans were already having a tremendous recruiting year in 2017 and that got even better on National Signing Day. In the span of less than an hour, the Trojans landed two five-star prospects up front and strengthened what appears to be one of the top 10 recruiting classes in America.

Offensive tackle Austin Jackson, who ranks as the No. 21 player in the country according to 247Sports, chose USC over Washington and Arizona State while also holding offers from programs like Alabama, UCLA and Oklahoma.
Then, fellow five-star prospect Jay Tufele landed with USC over Michigan, Ohio State and others.

Tufele ranks as the No. 14 overall prospect according to 247Sports and the 6-foot-3, 297-pound prospect is a huge get for USC. All told, both prospects rank within the top 50 in the 247Sports composite and, with USC's reputation for developing elite players (Adoree Jackson, JuJu Smith-Schuster, etc.) at the skill positions, it is never a bad thing to add a little bit of beef along the offensive and defensive lines.
It isn't every day that a program (especially a program outside of Alabama) can land two five-star prospects in the span of mere moments, but Clay Helton and his staff earned a big-time windfall here.
