One set of bowl projections has a stunning team making the College Football Playoff

This is a team that has some firepower coming back.

Spring practice has concluded for college football teams, and they are now turning their attention to the season.

College football analysts have already been looking ahead to the fall, and 247 Sports analyst Brad Crawford unveiled his predictions for the College Football Playoffs.

A few of Crawford's finalists are usual suspects, including Alabama, Ohio State and Florida State. But the fourth team Crawford predicted was a bit surprising.

Crawford had Oklahoma State meeting Alabama in the Rose Bowl. Oklahoma is the favorite to win the Big 12, and he predicts the Sooners to make the Fiesta Bowl.

The Cowboys are talented, and they return quarterback Mason Rudolph and receiver James Washington. They return 12 starters from a team that finished 10-3 the last two season.

Oklahoma State has won one Big 12 title under Gundy, and they nearly played for a national title in 2011 before the BCS pitted Alabama against LSU.

Most of the top teams for 2017 will be annual contenders, but a team like Oklahoma State could certainly make a run. They have a favorable schedule, including a home game against Oklahoma which might decide who wins the Big 12.

Can you imagine Mike Gundy and his mullet competing for a national title berth in the prestigious Rose Bowl?
