One stat shows why Texas A&M might have a shot against No. 1 Alabama

No. 6 A&M plays at Alabama on Saturday.

Texas A&M may be the No. 6 team in the nation, but No. 1 Alabama has been so dominate this year that it didn't matter to Vegas what Texas A&M's ranking was. The Crimson Tide opened as a ridiculous 19-point favorite against the Aggies earlier this week.

While Alabama has proven themselves to be a worthy bet this season, this might play exactly in to Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin's hands more than Alabama likes.

Per FOX Sports, Sumlin is 5-2 in his coaching career as a double-digit underdog. No, that's not 5-2 against the spread; that's 5-2 straight up in those games.

Can Sumlin pull off some magic against a monster Alabama team? It's possible, as Texas A&M has the right ingredients to pull an upset. The Aggies have a good offense, a great defense, and they have capable play-makers on special teams. Of course, Alabama also has all of those things, but Texas A&M is the most complete team that the Tide have faced so far. We will definitely learn a lot of things about the SEC and the top of college football this year.
