Taggart and his wife, Gloria, raised six children, including the current Oregon coach. The Tampa Bay Times has previously described the two parents as extremely hard-working individuals that did their best to support their family of six.
Condolences have since poured in for the Taggart family, including from Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh.
We lost a good man with passing of John Taggart, a hard working man who, along with Gloria, raised a beautiful family - Lots of family love!

Harbaugh has known the Taggarts since his father, Jack, was Willie's head coach at Western Kentucky. Taggart also served as a running backs coach under Harbaugh at Stanford.
We send our thoughts and prayers to Taggart and his family and friends in this difficult time.
