Pac-12 running back receives absurd seventh year of eligibility

A seventh-year of eligibility!

Washington running back Deontae Cooper has had an extremely rough career. The running back has suffered multiple knee injuries in his time at Washington, but has recovered to enjoy three healthy years of playing time since the start of the 2013 season.

Well, Cooper's career is not over, as the running back that joined Washington back in 2010 will be granted a seventh year of eligibility, as he will transfer to San Jose State for his final college football season. He will be eligible immediately as a graduate transfer.

Cooper's knee injuries obviously hampered him, but he has been somewhat useful as a reserve for the Huskies. In his three healthy seasons, he has rushed for 653 yards and five total touchdowns. He might get a chance to shine more at San Jose, though, as the Spartans' top running back option from 2015 — Tyler Ervin with 294 carries and 1,601 yards — has graduated.
