It's one thing to find out from someone other than the coach that he's fired and it another thing entirely to find out via multiple sources on Twitter. That's apparently what happened for California players when coach Sonny Dykes was fired on Sunday.

That's defensive back Darius Allensworth, running back Vic Enwere and defensive tackle Luc Bequette, in that order. Not a good look for California on this one. Even with players on break you should probably send a mass text to the team informing them of the move.
And it seems that even the coach was surprised by the school's handling of the situation:
