Deion Sanders Names the Best Coach in College Football in True Coach Prime Fashion

Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders named the best coach in college football in the least surprising way.

We're through three weeks of the college football season with many successful programs to this point, including the 3-0 Colorado Buffaloes, and head coach Deion Sanders isn't holding back on his evaluation of his ability.

Appearing on 60 Minutes, Coach Prime was asked, "Now that you're a Power 5 guy, who's the best coach in college football today?"

Sanders paused, looked down a bit, lifted his head, and said, "Let me see a mirror so I can look at it."

As one X user put it, Deion Sanders has always had confidence in his abilities, whether playing or now coaching.

After Sanders asked for the mirror, 60 Minutes asked him if he "felt that" to which he said, "You think I'm going to sit up here and tell you somebody else? You think that's the way I operate? That somebody else got that one me? But I'll tell you this, I love and I adore and I respect, and every time I do a commercial with coach [Nick] Saban, it's a gift just sitting in his presence and hearing him and throwing something else out there so I can hear his viewpoint on things."

Sanders and Saban have appeared in Aflac commercials together, and some ESPN programs have speculated whether or not Sanders could take over for Saban, who's in his early 70s, retires.

Under head coach Karl Dorrell, the Buffaloes won one game in 2022 before Sanders came in and completely overhauled the program.

As mentioned, the Buffaloes are 3-0, and quarterback Shedeur Sanders, Deion's son, has 1,250 passing yards, 11 touchdowns (10 passing; one rushing), and just one interception while completing 78.1% of his passes.

Heading into Week 4, the Buffaloes head on the road against the Oregon Ducks. They'll be without star wide receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter after suffering an injury in their double-overtime win against Colorado State. He'll not only miss this game but Week 5 against USC, too.

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Buffaloes are 21-point road underdogs.
