The Colorado Buffaloes have taken their lumps over the past couple of months, but head coach Deion Sanders just made one of the biggest moves of the recruiting cycle, landing a 5-star offensive lineman.

Recruiting expert Hayes Fawcett tweeted on Thursday, December 7 that the Buffaloes had landed 5-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton out of IMG Academy in Florida. Despite offers from top programs like Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, and Oregon, Seaton has decided to jump into one of the most fascinating programs in the country to work with Coach Prime and company.

Seaton was the No. 1 offensive tackle in the country by 247Sports' composite rankings, making it a home-run commitment for Sanders and his coaching staff. The commitment from Seaton was a massive one for Sanders, who experienced a rapid streak of players decommitting immediately following the end of the team's regular season.
Offensive line help was clearly been Colorado's biggest focus heading into the offseason. Shedeur Sanders, Coach Prime's son, was sacked 52 times this past season, and ended up missing the team's final game against Utah due to injury. Assuming that Sanders returns under center for the Buffaloes, the team wants to make sure they can give him more time to throw in 2024.
On top of adding Seaton, the Buffaloes have fired former NFL offensive lineman Phil Loadholt as the team's new offensive line coach. Considering the timing of that announcement alongside Seaton's commitment, there's a non-zero chance that the two moves were somehow related.
Regardless, adding both Loadholt and Seaton signals that Colorado is extremely serious about revamping its offensive line for 2024 and beyond. If they can add a couple more pieces in recruitment and/or the transfer portal, Colorado could look like a much more dangerous unit in the Big 12 next season.
