The first year of Deion Sanders at Colorado has been a headline-generating machine, but the head football coach is hoping for a "little more privacy" in 2024, he told People Magazine.

"You always wish that you had a little more privacy," Sanders said, "but the same thing that makes you shine will show your blemishes. [The season] was a whirlwind early on. Then it calmed down to a halt. We're going to show you how we dealt with that adversity, it was tough because I've never lost pretty much in life, and in the last several years of my life, 10 years, decade, I'm a darn winner, so dealing with losses was tough."
Further on in the interview, "Coach Prime" talked about his optimism moving forward.
"There's a process to all of it, and you have to go through certain processes of life to get to where you want to get to," he said. "It just doesn't happen overnight. Contrary to what people may believe, success does not happen overnight."
The Buffaloes had a hot start to the year, going 3-0 after defeating 2023 national championship game runner-up TCU, the Matt Rhule-led Nebraska Cornhuskers and in-state rival Colorado State. However, they went 1-8 after that, only defeating Arizona State. They also missed the mark for a bowl game.
Sanders' son Shedeur was a massive bright spot, completing 68.5% of his passes for 3,229 yards, 27 touchdowns and three interceptions. He also rushed for 379 yards and four touchdowns.
However, he missed the final game due to a plethora of injuries, as he was sacked around 50 times during the season — the highest mark in the country.
The Buffaloes have gone to work in the transfer portal, though, bringing in several offensive linemen and players at other positions to overhaul their roster as they head into the Big 12, with the Pac-12 essentially dissolving.
Will Sanders see more privacy next season at Colorado?
Yeah — probably not.
