Deion Sanders Called on to Take Over Top SEC Program

Following the firing of Jimbo Fisher at Texas A&M, many are already predicting the Aggies next head coach, and Stephen A. Smith of ESPN has appointed Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders as that possible candidate.

On ESPN's morning show "Get Up," Smith was advocating for the coach, citing the Aggies resources. Coach Prime has led the Buffaloes to four wins this season after the school went 1-11 last season with a different roster and coaching staff.

"That's what I've been saying, Deion Sanders in the SEC," Smith said. "With that vault that they have available to them. Them hogs that he could recruit. He doesn't have them at Colorado, and he ain't going to get them. I don't think they'll do it. Texas A&M. Primetime, Deion Sanders in the SEC? That needs to happen."

Josh Tolle of Sports Illustrated said that Sanders has no interest in leaving Colorado right now. He also mentions that Sanders wouldn't have the same control over the program as he does now with Colorado.

Tolle also points out that Sanders recently agreed to a deal with Nike to bring back his Diamond Turf line, while the Aggies have an agreement with Adidas.

While Sanders and his recruiting power might draw some intrigue for what he could bring to College Station, it doesn't appear to be in the cards.

In the meantime, Coach Prime and the Buffaloes are 4-6, coming off a heartbreaking loss to Arizona at home. They'll take on Washington State this Friday, November 17, at 10:00 pm on FS1.

The Buffaloes must beat Washington State and Utah in the final week of the regular season to become bowl-eligible. After such a strong start to the season, the Buffaloes are suddenly on the ropes when it comes to making a bowl game.

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Buffaloes are 4.5-point road underdogs to the Cougars.
